RC Boat Made of Popsicle Sticks – onboard camera
Not the prettiest boat on the water, but handles great and plenty of power. I made it in 2001 and it’s still doing excellent. Take a ride with the onboard camera with front and rear views.Thought I had a breakdown, but watch and see what it was. The men onboard are O gauge train figures. See this boat towing another boat in another video. An old rc boat is towed out and sunk with an onboard camera. Please see my other videos. This was at speedwell forge lake, Lancaster County PA Music from www.freeplaymusic.com

u hav way too much time on ur hands buddy
Awesome
cool boat. i make popsicle boats too but i can never get them to float.
It’s actually a nice looking boat! Im planning on making a big freighter. But the curvature is somewhat a challange. I want it to be at least decent.
Ok… Um, I’m makin a boat and how do u build walls and bow?
Awsome boat
how long is it?
how many popcicle sticks did u use??
@lilmanwithops Well, you’ll need a prop shaft & gear box for the motor, you can find them on tower or ebay or lot’s of hobby sites. The rudder is made of solid wood and is just attached with a zinc cabinet hinge. (zinc prevents rusting). I epoxied a control horn to the rudder for the pushrod to attach to. Silicone caulking is used in the bolt holes to seal them completely.
thanks so much…so u can just get a motor and put it in the boat, but how did you attach the rudder
@lilmanwithops I built the boat with wood glue, but then it must be covered with epoxy to make it watertight and keep it together. The epoxy is 100% waterproof. This boat only has it on the inside, which was a mistake cause the wood joints crack every year & have to be filled. Check my other boat made of popsicle sticks-that one has epoxy on the outside too. No problems. Motor & parts for this one were from a Traxxas villain, but other one, I bought parts from Tower Hobbies & ebay.
I’m trying to make an rc boat and i have a few of question because yours is amazing. My first is how do you make the outside bc i’m trying to make one our of popsicle sticks and when i put it on the water the sticks just came apart and the glue i used was a glue gun and my other ? is how do u get an engine? Did you literaly buy an engine or did you buy an rc boat from a store and then just take it out of that boat. Thx my boat fell aprt just days ago and i felt like i wanted to cry..i was so mad
in your opinion its not highly detailed, but i thought it was pretty well decked out!
hey, can you try make a video of u fishing off the boat just tie it down to something like ur railing or something sturdy
btw cool boat
Thanks for the compliment!!
Thanks!!!
She is quite stable. Great work on the boat and video.

Nice, it’s almost like I want you to make a boat for me.
Thank you. I have videos of a new & better popsicle boat. You should check em out.
Nice boat! it even sounds like a real one : ))
Thank you very much for the kind words!!
She’s a fine vessel!
Looks to be great handling indeed, especially at those speeds.
Fantastic craftsmanship there!
Yeah those little digital video cams do that when they face the sun, looks like an eclipse. Thanks for the compliment. I have a video of a better popsicle boat I’ve made now too.
